Following on from our last post “Nokia E65 Cell Phone”, where we reviewed the popular Nokia E65 cell phone (mainly because the author has one and he likes it), I just want to break from the gadgets and talk briefly about why we even need all these gadgets in our lives!
Well, one school of thought is that technology is racing away at breakneck speed and it’s only natural to our human instincts of curiosity and a thirst for learning that we embrace the gadgets that are created and enjoy them for what they are. The creation of human intelligence and development of the power of our minds to even be able to make such things.
Another side of the argument says that these gadgets are unnecessary distractions to our thought processes and actually dull the creative abilities by taking over from the brain in the reasoning and calculating side of things. A big example would be the television and computer games. These things are truly a drain on the intelligence as they remove the need to think for ourselves.
Or some would argue it that way. Some would not. So I guess that’s really down to personal opinions, likes dislikes etc. Whatever swings your chain I guess is good enough for you and no one is going to judge you man!
Whichever way you look at it, technology and the gadgets it spawns are here to stay and will continue to get ever more complex and ingenious in their design, usefulness and advancement of the human power of creativity. So we either like ‘em or lump ‘em…
