Nokia E65 Cell Phone

Nokia E65 Cell PhoneThe Nokia E65 cell phone is a pretty nice phone, I have to say because I’ve been using one for almost a year now and I’m pretty impressed with it enough to want to write about it. Its also a good way to follow up my introductory post “Gadget!”, and get this blog moving!

For starters, its fairly tough which is something I can’t say much for other phones I owned before this one. Other phones especially those with mainly plastic shells tended to fall to bits too quickly, or annoyingly the on/off switch would break. The Nokia E65 seems to be standing up to some moderately rough treatment without any problems.

Its got a nice batch of features but what drew it to me initially was the wi-fi and 3G capability as well as the Simbian operating system with a mini office suite that is actually readable in the nice big display. It takes standard micro SD memory cards and I have a 2gb card in mine which is ample for a selection of MP3’s and a growing library of images. Which reminds me I must upload them to the PC, for which a USB connector comes with the Nokia E65 kit.

The number keys are nicely hidden with the phone in its slide down position so no chance of accidentally ringing the other side of the world while its in your pocket!

I’m also amazed at the sound reproduction through its tiny built-in speaker – I actually listened to the live version of Pink Floyd’s Comfortably numb and it sounded far better than it should coming out of such a tiny orifice!

The camera is ok, 2 Mpx is not wonderful but the image reproduction is fine for displaying on the PC monitor and using as website images and it does well in low light.

The phone itself is pretty easy to get the hang of and the call quality is clear and sharp.

What can I say, but if you want a full function phone for not too much money, the Nokia E65 is a pretty good choice.
